What is your source ?

When writing a blog, there's certainly the pleasure of writing, of laying down one's thoughts and reflections, not on paper with ink but on a computer keyboard. However, unlike a logbook or a diary where one writes secretly, when deciding to write articles in a blog, one hopes to be read.
I started writing a few years ago with the aim of encouraging young people to have faith in God, through my experience shared in my book on the practice of listening to God, spiritual gifts, and prayer. I continue to write with this blog to encourage finding strength in God to keep moving forward in the paths life offers us. This life that God wishes to live with us and through us.
Hoping to be read. And taking actions that allow it. Creating an Instagram account, posting to let people know a new article is out, subscribing to other Christian accounts to know and be known. Many actions we do daily.
Yet, following these actions and discovering the multitude of what exists on the internet, social networks, and Christian media, discovering the diversity of accounts of Christian organizations sharing their faith, creations, ideas, and meetings, I felt overwhelmed! Like when faced with an abundant table while already too full. And I wondered if we had a real impact on our society. I only wanted to look away, turn off my screen, and return to the calm and the place most dear to me in the world, the Secret Place. Spend a moment with the Holy Spirit and stay in His presence.
During this moment with Him, I thought of Jesus overturning the tables of the sellers in the temple during Passover. Jesus was outraged by the sellers of pigeons, oxen, and sheep and the money changers there. This story is found in the gospels, and we often identify with Jesus and His anger when reading it. In this reading, we can, like Him, be scandalized by the attitude of the sellers of pigeons or other animals intended for sacrifices required by God Himself in the law.
But what were they doing wrong after all? Didn't they allow everyone to obey God through their actions? Aren't we all in this same good will?
Sharing our faith, inviting Christians or non-Christians to our events, selling or sharing our talents, our ideas, all this is good, but what does it really produce?
Did I feel this sort of nausea because God was opening my eyes to this overflow of teachings, advice, virtual or physical Christian articles? I felt we were saturated with knowledge but perhaps missing the essential.
Of course, God rejoices to see us work, act, and use our talents and gifts. It's not about feeling guilty for being active. I would be in no position to judge as I love to undertake, develop new projects, and implement new ideas. But the question that comes to mind and that I wish to resonate is this:
"Is the sellers' table full while God awaits us at His?"
This morning, someone told me about a very good Christian podcast on the Bible that helped him understand many things. He was really enthusiastic about the content but suddenly made this remark,
"Can we learn so much about God and yet not spend time with Him? Know the texts, the Bible very well, but not know God?" I found his questions so right and relevant.
And you, what do you think? What is your true source?
Do you prioritize your time, your thoughts for this heart-to-heart with Him?
Do you talk about Him without living in this intimacy? Do you really know Him?
Do you seek His thoughts in His presence and by listening to Him, or do you satisfy yourself more at this overflowing table of online networks and media?
We must have an impact, and this impact has nothing to do with the events themselves. It can never come from any other source than God.
We can have millions of followers, spend hours studying the Bible or listening to a thousand podcasts about God, if we don't take the time to meet Him in prayer, everything will be in vain and especially without power.
And the world has a vital need for the power of God.
I simply share here what I feel to invite us to reflect and seek God more than anything else because from Him comes the source of life and the anointing on everything we do. Let's seek Him with all our strength.
